Ballet Sleeves: Puffs, Ruffles, and Bands Class is a six-hour class. It is a great introduction to making various basic sleeves to go with tutus and other ballet costumes. 

You will make several sets of ballet-style sleeves and will receive patterns and instructions for each of the following:

• Simple short puffs and/or ruffles
• A long sleeve, “Juliet-style” attached to the bodice with elastics at the shoulder
• Our beautiful “Aurora” sleeve, a drapey chiffon sleeve with a high/low ruffle at the elbow
•  A Peasant Costume Chemise, a crop top that can be attached or kept separate
• Embellished armbands
• La Bayadere “Kingdom of the Shades” sleeve drapes and how to attach to a headpiece or directly to the dancer’s bun
• Sleeve drapes attaching to the upper arm and bodice

Instruction will include:

• Various methods of embellishing sleeves
• The importance of making sleeves small so they do not overwhelm the dancer and/or give the dancer’s arms a garish look
• The importance of comfort
• Durability
• How to clean
• Appropriate fabrics

Want to make the sleeves in class for a specific dancer? Bring her bicep measurement and you can do it! How many sets of sleeves you finish will depend on what you can get done in the time allotted. You will have patterns and instructions for all the sleeves taught in class to take home with you so you can make many different sleeves for your costumes.

We offer two payment choices:  1. Online Payment Only: Pay in full when you register and receive a 10% discount on your classes, OR 2. Choose to pay a 50% course/kit deposit and our billing department will arrange auto-pay for the balance on 6/1 for NC-July. If you decide to pay your balance sooner, please call during office hours and we'd be happy to process final payment. Please note, if you add options with additional cost to the base kit price those fees will be added to your cart and paid with your first payment/deposit. Payments are non-refundable, however a TutuSchools credit, less 10%, will be granted for use within one year at any of our seminar locations when requested more than 30 days in advance of your seminar. If you must drop out within 30 days of the class date, no credit will be issued. Spread payments over 6 mos. interest-free with PayPal credit.
